Data Providers
Data providers are expected to submit their data to RMIS to meet specified deadlines outlined in the PSC Specifications documentation for the type of data reported. Depending on the agency or tribe, up to four different data types are submitted to RMIS.
- Location Data (LC) – Whenever updates are deemed necessary by the reporting agency, as required to validate other data types.
- Release Data (RL) – Preliminary Release data (CWT only) should be reported no later than August 15 of the current calendar year. Final Release data for the current calendar year should be reported no later than January 31 of the following year.
- Recovery Data (RC) – Preliminary data for the current calendar year should be reported no later than January 31 of the following year. This applies to Recovery records where field “Run Year” is equal to the current calendar year.
- Catch/Sample Data (CS) – Preliminary data for the current calendar year should be reported no later than January 31 of the following year. This applies to Catch/Sample records where field “Catch Year” is equal to the current calendar year.
The contacts for each agency and tribe submitting data to RMIS are listed below. If the responsibility is held by more than one individual, each are listed, and the specific data type(s) they submit are identified. Process by which data related to CWT tags extracted by a NMFS laboratory for the Individual Fishing Quota Trawl Catch Monitoring Program (IFQCM) are submitted is described at the bottom of the webage.

Submittal of CWT Data Retrieved from the Individual Fishing Quota Trawl Catch Monitoring Program
The Individual Fishing Quota Trawl Catch Monitoring Program (IFQCM) extracts and collects CWT from their catch. The PSMFC’s IFQCM Coordinator requests the NMFS laboratory, responsible for extracting CWTs as part of the IFQCM Program, to provide the sheet listing the CWT number, physical tag, and snout number, based on the port location, to the appropriate state contact.
The current state contacts who submit CWT data associated with the IFQMC Program:
- California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Ian Pritchard, Environmental Scientist
- Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Larry Funston, Tag Lab Coordinator
- Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Brian Missildine, HEAT/CWT Supervisor
