CWT Agencies and Tribes
Representatives from numerous agencies, tribes, and organizations participate in various ways with coded wire tagged (CWT) salmon and steelhead. Those roles include four categories and are summarized below:
- Coordinator – CWT coordinators aid in management and tracking of release groups to ensure that CWT prefixes and codes are correctly assigned to release groups. Tag prefixes and codes are pre-assigned to the different organizations releasing CWT fish.
- Release – Those identified with a CWT Release role are the agencies, tribes and organizations that release salmon and steelhead marked with a CWTs. (Some of these entities no longer release CWT fish and their last year of fish release is noted.)
- Sample – Entities that sample salmon and steelhead with CWTs.
- Report – Agencies and tribes responsible for submitting CWT data to RMIS.
